Here are the basic steps in understanding how to knot the simple Cross on your tummy (Cradle position):

 

To place the baby in a cradle position or for breastfeeding in the simple cross, you must lay the baby in the hammock that was formed by the side of the cross that passes nearest to you. If you like, before inserting baby, open up the width of wrap. Place baby on your arm and slide him head first into the hammock by the side.

Place baby facing you or lying down in the hammock, the body well supported by the wrap. Unfold the panel over the baby so as to give a maximum of support.
 
Adjust the tension of the wrap so baby is at the right height to feed at the breast and is comfortably supported.
